Northern Ireland’s first insect farm, built for circular agriculture
We convert local food waste into sustainable, high-protein feed for poultry, pigs, and pets – reducing costs, emissions, and reliance on imported soy.

Turning Waste into Sustainable Protein
WHAT WE DO
Insect Farming for a Greener Future
EcoBug Farm is Northern Ireland’s first insect farming venture, converting local food waste into high-quality protein using black soldier fly larvae. Our insect-based ingredients offer a sustainable alternative to soy and fishmeal for the agriculture, aquaculture, and pet food industries.
We’re building a circular economy – reducing waste, cutting costs, and creating climate-smart feed for a growing world.
THE PROBLEM
A Costly and Broken Cycle
Northern Ireland produces significant volumes of food waste each year – much of it underutilised. Meanwhile, local farmers rely on expensive, imported protein feeds like soy, driving up costs, increasing supply risks, and putting pressure on the environment.
This disconnect between waste and demand is inefficient, unsustainable, and costly for the agri-food sector.

Help Shape the Future of Sustainable Feed
HOW WE SOLVE THE PROBLEM
Transforming Waste Into Sustainable, Local Feed
Protein from Food Waste
We use black soldier fly larvae to convert local food waste into high-protein insect meal – a sustainable alternative to soy and fishmeal.
Local Feed, Less Imports
Our process reduces reliance on imported feeds, keeping nutrients and value in the local farming economy.
